- ern 11mo agoMaking sure that the consequences are well-publicized also has the useful side-effect of making sure that ejection is regarded as a last resort.
- varjag 11mo agoYou don't really get a rando who would be unaware of that in the pilot seat of a fighter jet very often.
- ern 11mo agoBy "publicize" I meant making sure the consequences were well known within the fighter pilot community.
- varjag 11mo agoThey were well known in fighter pilot community. It's not an obscure fact, they undergo training for ejection seats. There is a specific ejection posture to minimize the risk of snapping your spine.
