Innovative antivenom is a 'potential game changer' for snakebites
- marojejian 1y agopaper: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-025-09661-0 https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-025-09661-0 Had never heard of "nanobodies" before. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single-domain_antibody https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single-domain_antibody sounds really promising. and fun that they come from camelids, like llamas and alpacas. P.S. This is a more conventional approach vs. the guy who let a bunch of snakes bite him: https://www.wpr.org/news/meet-wisconsin-man-let-hundreds-venomous-snakes-bite https://www.wpr.org/news/meet-wisconsin-man-let-hundreds-ven... (also a great story). P.P.S. Coincidentally I got angry when during an economics podcast, they referred the saying that camels are "horses designed by a committee." No biologist would say such a thing. camels kick ass at their environment, and apparently they can help us with our environment too.
