- pstuart 1y agoThe advances in battery tech (e.g., CATL's fast charging batteries) should bring the refueling experience to parity with fossil fuels.
- lunias 1y agoHow about weight? My biggest gripe with electric vehicles is that they charge too slowly and weigh too much compared to their ICE counterparts.
- pstuart 1y agoI can't speak to that but assume that will take a lot longer than fast charging. Weight may be an issue to you (and the roads) but I have to imagine most drivers don't care about that at all.
- lunias 1y agoWeight also matters in shipping, no? Most shipping is run on fossil fuels. I think you're right that most drivers don't care about weight... it's a shame because it's basic physics.
- pstuart 1y agoIt absolute matters in many areas but I was nit picking on the issue of it being a direct concern to the consumer ;-) The elephant in the room of EVs is how to equitably pay for the roads once there's no gas tax. Fuel taxes are a reasonable mechanism today (the fuel you use, the more roads you use).
