  A good example that "public" campaigning can work, but not necessarily for the better - there's been a systematic campaign to delegitimize trans healthcare. There's comparable examples from other places; Ireland has come a long way in getting the church out of reproductive health, but there are still problems. And of course it doesn't matter whether it's public or private, abortion care is at risk in many US states. The UK does allow you to go private, remember.
