I'd like to recommend one as well: The City & the City, by China Miéville. A delightful, unique experience! Fresh and original, “fantasy science fiction”. Not a big fan of detective stories and noir, but this is something else.

- georgefrowny 1y agoI found Railsea really fun. It's a bit silly and didn't take itself very seriously. Somehow it feels like it could have been a novelisation of a British 1960/70s stop motion TV show like the Clangers.
