AI isn't making it better, but tbh most of the author's complaints have been a problem since well before LLMs. Engagement bait is profitable, and an internet that connects 8 billion people will always trend toward monoculture.
- Gigachad 1y agoMaking a problem 100x worse is still quite notable even if social media was always slop. Half of reddit posts these days are ChatGPT written where OP replies to nothing.
- rsynnott 1y agoSure, spam’s always been a thing, but making spam too cheap to meter does amount to making things worse.
