If Apple had released the rumoured budget macbook using the A-series chipset and take a shot at Microsoft in the marketing, I think they would see a surge of orders and converts.
- bigyabai 1y agoDoubtful. They've already tapped out the white-collar classroom market with iPads, and macOS isn't getting good enough to convert Windows diehards. Frankly I think Cook is making the right decision here, the A-series Macbook is basically guaranteed to be a loss-leader compared to other hardware so you might as well drive current customers to more expensive (eg. redesigned Air) models instead.
