That two year oil change cycle is the minumum required to not void the warranty. It shouldn’t be taken as the optimal interval to maximise engine life. Of course, modern fully synthetic engine oils are longer lasting, and I believe the newer Toyotas, at least the hybrids anyway, have electric oil pumps, and use very thin engine oil to make sure the engine is well lubricated at startup.
