Without even knowing who the author of the blog post was, found that the article is making some good points, especially showing how some of the claims in the book have no real base, and the studies that are cited sometimes have nothing to do with the conclusions that the author of the book draws out.
But the interesting part is how the comment section here is in part people attacking the author of the blog post on a personal level. In the end, probably the book is a good read and fun, that's why it has such reviews and it became so popular, it also validates people and tells them what they want to hear, it doesn't matter that some?!? of the science behind it is invented or misinterpreted, people just want to feel good about themselves and read or listen to things that validate their opinions. But it does show that this whole religious approach of "we believe in science" is just that, a religion, because people in general just want to hear things that reinforce their opinions, when science is actually about constant learning, experimenting, change, listening and accepting new things.
