I loathe Kramnik and I am saddened and shaken by Danya's death. (We both played at the Mechanics Institute Chess Club.)
Having said all that, the prevailing wisdom in the suicide-prevention field is that we are each responsible for our own decisions. I.e. Kramnik, long may he suffer, is not "responsible."
- nurettin 1y agoI have no idea why you think online harassment brings no responsibility to perpetrators. During an exchange Kramnik said "you started it" so this is just out of pure spite. Anyway I don't live in your kafkaesque reality and do not wish to.
- hilux 1y agoMaybe you should volunteer on the suicide hotline, as I did.
- nurettin 11mo agoMaybe, but I'm not sure if I have the aptitude to do that, or if you should be ascribing that role randomly to strangers, or if that gives you any credibility. In most countries, continued harassment, defamation and disturbing peace is a crime. Apparently even in FIDE rules as Nihal pointed it out. So FIDE is pretty much a co-conspirer.
