This comment stands out to me:
Users on Twitter/Facebook/TikTok can post whatever garbage they want, no matter how terrible, but Reddit is trying to crack down on any subs that make fun of the right politically, as Reddit is basically the only major social media that lefties have left and the right-wingers (including Reddit's executives) can't stand that lefties have anywhere to go online in any numbers.
- aiiizzz 1y agoThat "have left", I thought it meant "exited," had to read a few times
- octopoc 1y agoHow are the Reddit execs right wing? Reddit had a hilariously bad relationship with the trump subreddit, in fact the CEO famously edited user comments in that sub to change them from being critical of him to being critical of the mods[1]. - NewJazz 1y agoHe edited comments about himself. It wasn't some conspiracy to push anti trump messaging.
- consumer451 1y agoThis could just be Reddit trying to avoid retribution from the current US gov, could it not? To me, this seems like the most likely reason and, shortest explanation.
