It's indisputable that the tech is and can be very useful, but it's also surrounded by a bubble of grifters and opportunists riding the hype and money train. The sooner we start ignoring the "AI", "ASI", "AGI", anthropomorphization, and every other snake oil these people are peddling, the sooner we can focus on practical applications of the tech, which are numerous.
