If we are behind, that means we must give this general and his team more funds! Billions and trillions!
Government bureaucracy and standing armies are antithetical to freedom, and to winning wars. Wait to build weapons till they are needed or you just will build weapons to fight the last war.
- AnimalMuppet 1y agoThe problem with that is, weapons programs take a year or several to ramp up. If you don't build weapons until they're needed, then on the day the war starts, you have no weapons. That's not going to go well.
- silexia 1y agoYou can have local (county and state) militias. They can have a variety of weapon systems and you can ramp up production of new ones if needed. The US has only been attacked externally once (Pearl Harbor) and never really invaded in modern times anyways.
