I remember when "okay, cool, how do we deploy, run, maintain the thing we (our leadership) just bought from you" was several weeks of meetings with the vendor and discussing awful "human-readable" documentation (if it existed). Those meetings still happen sometimes, but "cloud" *aaS and containers really put a dent in that sort of thing.
