This has nothing to do with capitalism. This is pure government intervention in a global market where other competing governments (China) are extremely interventionist already.
Capitalism != Free Market
- Muromec 1y agoFree market is for the times when you keep winning, once you start losing, it's time to protect national security (tm).
- heavyset_go 1y agoIt's just capitalist governments doing capitalist things like the bidding of the owner class, as they've always done. There's never been a time that capitalist states didn't appropriate property from one party in order to give it to the wealthy. Calling this "clepto capitalism" is a distinction without meaning.
