Mackinac Island Is the Only City in America Where Cars Are Banned
- stockresearcher 1y agoIf you want to visit, you need to generally avoid late July (but check the schedule). There are two huge boat races that end at the island - the Bayview Mac [1] and the Chicago Mac [2]. They run on successive weekends, alternating which goes first. The island is completely overrun with sailing-related stuff during that time. Unless you’re involved, it is not a pleasant time.
