I like that datastar has better defaults, embracing SSE makes certain things much simpler and cleaner even on the backend (no need to wrangle templates with htmx oob for example). I am okay with the open-core and pro model. But, the maintainers are quite combative on HN and Reddit as well. This does not bode well for the otherwise great project.
