White House slams Trump's perceived Nobel peace prize snub
- duxup 1y agoFull title is: White House slams Trump’s perceived Nobel peace prize snub as ‘politics over peace’ But it wouldn't fit on HN.
- TimorousBestie 1y agoHonestly, it would be easier to give himself the Medal of Honor, or idk, bribe Charles to knight him. Or convince one of his many rich friends to buy the whole organization, outright. It can’t be that much more expensive than Dominion Voting Systems.
- mothballed 1y agoThat's an interesting thought. Can POTUS, as commander of the armed forces, receive a MoH?
- jfengel 1y agoKnighthood is out, at least until the end of his term. Or at least, so says the Constitution, not that it has stopped him thus far. But why not establish his own prize? Instead of a single event, why not blast his name all over the media every single year, even after he's dead? He's got plenty of money; he's earned billions just this past year. Endow a foundation and present the prize to anybody he wants, and they'll put on a tuxedo to come shake his hand, just like the King of Sweden.
- TimorousBestie 1y ago> Knighthood is out, at least until the end of his term. Or at least, so says the Constitution, not that it has stopped him thus far. Aye, he’s already in violation of the Emoluments Clause a couple times over. No one particularly seems to care.

- pmdulaney 1y agoAs a practical matter, they probably settled on the winner months ago.

- TooSmugToFail 1y agoThis dude is attempting to gaslight the entire world.
- UncleMeat 1y agoI also didn't win the nobel peace prize. Was I snubbed? If anything, I have more of a claim to it than Trump does.
