People like to equate the UN to the Security Council, which is only one tiny piece of it. The UN is also the World Health Organization, UNESCO, the Food and Agriculture Organization, and many more. Even the Security Council is more than just votes. The entire thing is a place to talk, and it's where deals get made. It's hard to take somebody's opinion on the UN seriously when they don't seem to know anything about it.
