This is a good idea, kudos to them for making this move to help alleviate a lot confusion on behalf of funders. I think what they need to do is have milestones for their project that can get vetted by Kickstarter. For each milestone they hit, more funds get released to them. This will allow funders to get out if they keep missing their milestones, and the project looks like it's going downhill.
