- al_borland 1y agoI can only assume Grok prices will increase again as a result. I had an X subscription just to get rid of adds, and it came with Grok as a side effect. In the one year that I signed up for, the price more than doubled. I cancelled the subscription and stopped using the site as a result. It runs out any day now. Getting insane price hikes to fund these AI data centers, when all I cared about was not having ads, doesn’t sit well with me.
- grim_io 1y agoXai is probably burning cash like crazy now. Who is paying for it when they are giving away the coder and 4-fast model away for free? Seems like a desperate grab for a low-spend part of the customer base. What's the grand plan? Xai ist playing catch-up in the model game, yet their competitors have moved beyond, building products on top and becoming platforms to rival existing giants.
