It’s not a matter of being "cut out" for a 24/7 campaign-style work ethos. It’s a matter of persisting in that kind of self-effacing behavior. If you’re always in campaign mode, you never get to live your own life - just someone else’s. You only get one life, and this is not a good way to spend it.
- toomuchtodo 1y agoIt's not a job, it's about manifesting a cult of personality and attracting talent based around said cult. If you have outside obligations, a desire for work life balance, or a life outside of work, you're going to wash out and get replaced with someone "mission driven."
