  Both of you had opportunities to communicate and didn't. That's fine. Nobody thinks clearly when uncomfortable. But reflecting on what happened, it should be obvious that talking to the person would have not only solved the situation sooner but also more maturely than throwing a tantrum by kicking someone else's seat.
