SV is in large part to blame for Trump being there. The crypto and VC types are MAGA types and frankly, Democratic retaliation in the future should focus heavily on those groups.
- adamors 1y agoThere might not be a Democratic retaliation anytime soon. Orban has been in power for 15 years in Hungary, and Trump is adopting a lot of his playbook. In addition, Trump also has a paramilitary force.

- throwawaysleep 1y agoNo. Many of them like Marc Andreessen, Elon Musk, and Jeff Bezos were all aboard.
- apothegm 1y ago“Retaliation” is not the word I would use. Retaliation is the wrong reason for any decision in domestic politics. The right’s narrative of retaliation for imagined wrongs is a big part of the reason we’re in this position in the first place. (“The cruelty is the point.”) On the other hand, re-leveling the playing field will be important — if the playing field even still exists in a few years.
