Don't forget the power it consumes from an already overloaded grid [while actively turning off new renewable power sources], the fresh water data centers consume for cooling, and the noise pollution forced on low-income residents.
- amarcheschi 1y agoAs a european, i don't know if it's more funny or sad that american citizens close tho data centers are effectively subsidizing ai for the rest of the world by paying more for their electricity since the datacenters are mostly there
