"AGI" is a fluid term meaning whatever sama thinks will drive up OpenAI valuation this quarter and best avoided unless your intention is to help hoodwink OpenAI investors.
"ASI" is a new one you can throw in if you notice
people catching on to our "AGI" bullshitting and allows the user to appear "in the know" at mixers, cocktail parties and your company blog.
"AI" is any stochastic autonomous or generative digital system.
- bignorthchris 1y agoI cover all of those points in the article. I agree AGI (and to a lesser extent ASI) are heavily used purely for marketing purposes, but there are valid distinctions that should be discussed and there are instances where a difference needs to be drawn.
