The dangers of Samsung Galaxy Ring battery swelling
- benjiro 1y agoDaniel @ZONEofTECH experienced first hand (finger?) what happens when a Galaxy Ring battery expands, and the potential dangers of having a battery around your finger!

- duxup 1y agoIt took me longer than I care to admit that I was unsure why he was denied boarding an airplane / didn't just throw the ring away ... then I finally figured out he couldn't take it off. I do wonder how they noticed ... but good that they did. Do airplanes have a policy for if they're in the air and they see "device looks like it might burst and start a fire"?
- benjiro 1y agoMy guess but his finger was very swollen/red, and he was probably fidgeting a lot trying to get the ring off. So airline staff probably noticed this strange behavior, and asked if he needed help. One of his comments: >> the staff at the gate gave me some hand cream, but no luck. If anything, that made it worse and expanded the battery even more Its just insane for people to carry lithium-ion batteries on their finger in a restricted ring. A phone in your pocket is already dangerous if he goes, but on your finger it can restrict the blood flow or burst. One finger or even more can be gone, if that battery goes. I never understood how a device like this gets approved by management.
