I’d buy this argument but for heaven’s sake don’t rest your argument on what Shopify might be doing. Shopify has famously done everything and then the opposite for the past 5 years. They’re highly opportunistic in their messaging and marketing around hiring and what they publicly reveal there is better seen as propaganda than an indication of their actual hiring approach.
