400 feet of coastal bluff in California plummets toward the ocean
- dnemmers 1y agoReal bummer those houses are looking suuuuuuper close to the edge. Guessing the next slide could easily pull down part of the house. Best move is to buy out the homeowners and unfortunately demolish. (Unless it could be moved…)
- chmod775 1y agoSo apparently the city didn't want people to build homes in much of the affected area due to risk of exactly this, but property owners sued to be allowed to build anyways.[1] Now what the city feared would happen is in fact happening and the city has to bail them out, buying properties? Also let me guess: the people who sued the city back then to be allowed to build their homes are now suing the city because their homes are about to relocated below sea level. Maybe it's time to tax leeches and stupidity in general. - zippyman55 1y agoProbably best not to build in an obvious problem area. I cannot imagine how this would fall on the city. I'm having problems feeling sorry for them, given the magnitude of the nice homes.
