One of the tenets of Extreme Programming is "never work overtime longer than one week in a row". This isn't an assembly line. If you're tired, your work quality goes down. Your work pace goes down. And your life outside of work gets trashed. So, no, I will not work 996. I won't because I have a life outside of work. And I won't, even for the sake of my work, because it won't actually help my work.
