But in this case it is not like you're in the bleeding edge (you aren't anyway since Pop OS is based on Ubuntu LTS that is already a more conservative distribution even when a new version is released), you're in a stable distribution from almost 3 years ago.
This is the point where things start breaking because it is too old, not because it is too new. Case in point I know at least one or two projects that drops anything from their CI that is not the newest LTS release, and there are probably more.
