I'm pretty sure people with hostile drones inbound on a battlefield aren't too worried about whether it's safe for birds. I'm not even sure that the people responsible for keeping airports safe and open care too much either. But no doubt there'll be pushback ranging from genuinely concerned anuimal rights people, through to completely unhinged conspiracy theorists. who make it difficult to build/test/deploy this sort of thing in civilian contexts.
