Postgres 18 Is Out: Try It on Neon
- clarkbw 1y agoNeon has pg18 ready to use on the day it's released, just like last year. Sadly one of the most interesting features, Async I/O, is going to take some work at the file system level for us to support. For now all operations are still sync. And we'll keep updating on our progress there.
- rcleveng 1y agoThis is great to see, both the new 18 features (async I/O, UUIDv7 specifically). What I was surprised to see was no changes that make it easier to upstream the changes that neon and others have to upstream each release. Anyone have insights on this?
- roscas 1y agoPostgreSQL 18.0 on x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, compiled by gcc (GCC) 8.5.0 20210514 (Red Hat 8.5.0-28), 64-bit Compiled. Install. Very nice. Let's see some of those features.
