The surprisingly lucrative business of making a list of 500 stocks
- AfterHIA 1y agoI would love to see an experiment where you take 500 randomly selected performant stocks and compare them with the performance of the S&P 500. I have this feeling that it as a list isn't necessarily that special. Oh the day when the people in general find out that big finance is essentially the rich throwing darts at a dartboard. Nassim Taleb eat your heart out.
- sumolessons 1y agoNot orthogonal to your point, but a distinctive feature of market-cap-weighted portfolios is that they are inherently self-rebalancing.
