iPhone 16 Pro Max 80% Charge Limit: One Year Later, Was It Worth It?
- duxup 1y agoI have my phone set to 80% max charging, but I only do it because it is convenient for me. My usage pattern is just fine with 80% charging. I would NOT do it if it was a hassle. I did have to teach myself to "be ok" with being below 40% but really my phone lasts a long time down there ... I do wish this article could quantify what differences you might see charging to 80% rather than 100% over time.
- appreciatorBus 1y agoI do this on my iPad for the same reason. I don’t know if it helps, but it mainly lives on my coffee table, never more than a few feet away from an outlet if I need it, so it’s easy, and feels like a form of cheap insurance. So far it’s a year old and only just ticked down to 99% battery health so I’m crossing my fingers.
- gsky 1y agoCustomers should demand a replaceable battery feature rather than playing silly tricks. Buying a new phone every year is a environmental disaster.
- duxup 1y agoI don't think most people buy a new phone every year.
