Unfortunately it appears that advertising is covered by the first amendment in the US and cannot be banned.

- hollerith 1y agoThe Public Health Cigarette Smoking Act of 1969, which is still in effect, bans all commercials for cigarettes on TV and radio in the US.
- HDThoreaun 1y agoCigarettes and alcohol both have advertising heavily regulated/banned. The government just needs to make a public health argument which is easy enough here
- amanaplanacanal 1y agoThey would have to stop pushing their own gambling sites to accomplish that. 45 States have lotteries they aren't going to give up, and one of the other five has legal casino gambling.
