I like to idly select text as I'm reading and when it doesn't work it's super annoying. A pox on sites that do this.

- mvanbaak 1y agoI do exactly the same thing. thought I was the only weird one.
- freehorse 1y agoyou too?
- the_lucifer 1y agoI triple tap my trackpad (on macOS) to highlight the paragraph I'm reading, then highlight the next one and so on.
- mc3301 1y agoThanks for this reading tip!
- 9dev 1y agoBlessed are the sites that allow symmetric selections, cursed those that make it wonky.
- parpfish 1y agosame here. i use it as a kind of mental bookmark as i move down the page because I know that its very, very likely i'll get distracted by somethingand have to temporarily leave the article. however, this is probably a habit for a minority of users because it only makes sense on desktop. if you're reading on a mobile touchscreen-device this highlight-as-you-go tic just doesn't make sense
- hahn-kev 1y agoI'll do it on my phone, but it's usually just over the area I was reading when I decided to look away, so it's not while I'm reading, only if I'm going to go somewhere else first.
