Kimmel's monologues seem to regularly get 1-2m views and he has ~20m subscribers. I looked at a few right-leaning political podcasters (Asmongold, Ben Shapiro, Matt Walsh) who regularly get around a million views though having lower subscriber numbers. No doubt there are more detailed viewership ratings on digital media available, but I don't feel like going to the effort of collecting them.
Kimmel compared Trump's apparent indifference to the death of Kirk (in favor of talking about progress on the construction of his ballroom) to a 4 year old mourning his goldfish. It was very specific rather than joking at the expense of Kirk fans in general. It's odd that in complaining about context being omitted you would yourself omit such key context; to help refresh your memory, here's the original clip, with the 'offending' remark about 2 minutes in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-j3YdxNSzTk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-j3YdxNSzTk
