No, that's false. "Nakba" refers to the exodus of the Palestinians during 1948. It says exactly that in the Wiki. The exodus came as a result of war, first between the local Arabs and the Jews, and more prominently when Arab armies joined the war against Israel after it was declared a state.
Israel was given statehood by a decision of the League of Nations, the body preceding the UN.
