Will there be enough enthusiasm by then to keep the project on-par with the more mature one? I personally believe these completely “rewrites” aren’t the right way to do it. I think possibly slowly rewriting portions of code that are problematic are the best approach. But I don’t know how feasible that is when it comes to Rust + C.
