It's because people, including President Obama and Ted Cruz, did speak up that Jimmy Kimmel will get to go back to openly mocking Trump as allowed by our bill of rights. That's how we keep our democracy, by fighting for it.

It's pretty funny when a company takes the exact worst path navigating through a controversy. ABC did exactly this, they took maximum damage to their reputation and now looks like they are feckless idiots. Either they should have stood their ground and fought for free speech or they should have outright fired Kimmel. Suspending him for a couple of days only brings attention to how dumb ABC management is and now both sides will be hammering them for their own issues.

They made enemies from both sides with this strategy. I think that if you are going to make such a drastic move you need to cover all the corners, and have a plan B to follow through, this is not smart and shows a poor level of strategy from the executives.

Curious to see if upper management will face any repercussions as their decision tangibly affected the bottom line. Or if it'll be folded into more layoffs later.

Here's a recent interview with David Letterman (yes, if you're under 40, you think he's overrated) about this suspension: https://youtu.be/mpAHFlZqIKw https://youtu.be/mpAHFlZqIKw

They didn't do it out of the kindness of their hearts or for any ethical realization. There were zillions of Disney+ and Hulu cancellations. They do whatever is most convenient and expedient, and drift whichever way the wind is blowing.
