It doesn't have to do with the conditions. It has to do with whether or not it's on the highway or not. The car uses a different Stack for highway and off highway, the highway has been a step child for quite a long time now
- AlotOfReading 1y agoThat used to be true. Autopilot was for highways, FSD was for other roads. FSD can be enabled on both since v12 though and this video is specifically an attempt to use FSD on highways to go cross country.
- thefourthchime 1y agoAutopilot and FSD are completely different technologies. When v12 came out it only worked on city streets, and it used V11 for the highway. Later, V12, which is the end-to-end neural network, worked on highways as well, but they use different stacks behind the scenes.
