This hits home, and not even relegated to software. My partner decided to learn to ride a motorcycle during the pandemic. I’ve been riding in some form or another for more than half my life. In the first minutes of attempting to explain the procedures, I immediately realized there were years of involuntary movements and coordination I failed to articulate because it wasn’t a part of my mental model of the process. Needless to say she signed up for a professional course, got the license, and we’ve travelled nearly 10,000 miles together since!
