'Dystopian' toilets won't give you loo roll unless you watch an advert first

- yetihehe 1y agoAnd if it detects less than standard cleanliness of toilet after usage, your social credit will be lowered...
- LargoLasskhyfv 1y agoI'm having no problems with that. There should be consquences for swines. They need to be disciplined in some ways, otherwise their behaviour stays as it is, which is amiss.

- cinntaile 1y agoPaying for public toilets isn't unusual. You can pay or watch an ad.
- EbNar 1y agoI get furious when payment is needed to pee at a train station... It's not the pennies it costs, I just find it unethical, at least where train stations are owned by the State.
- GJim 1y agoJust jump over the barrier like everybody else. In the event of being challenged by a security chap, it is traditional to offer to piss on the station concourse instead.
- fyrn_ 1y agoThey are basically totally extinct in the US, so from a US perspective they are very unusual. In the US they fell out of favor during the 1970s because it was argued that they discriminate against women, as men could use urinals for free.
- sim7c00 1y agoahh funny fact. thanks. in NL here they had recent debates on this actually. now its i think mandatory for public events to include also proper toilets for women, rather than just the stand n piss buckets they got peppered around.
- cinntaile 1y agoWhat's the state of public toilets in the US? Are they usable and clean? Because that's why you pay for them over here, to make sure someone keeps them clean.
- vunderba 1y agoNormally I'd suggest just printing advertisements directly on the toilet paper itself - but I'm not sure there'd be too many companies clamoring to have their products connected to something you wipe your arse with. Then again, Taco Bell famously associated their food with a chihuahua - "our food is so good - even a dog will eat it!" so what do I know.

- thisislife2 1y agoWelcome to the group - due to the lack of public toilets (especially clean ones), we Indians have always treated the whole outside world as our toilet!

- general1465 1y agoYeah that's the intention. What is more likely is that someone rather use his fingers and smear it over the stall.
