It's wishy washy. I tend to bias away from things on the Mac App Store / Windows Store largely based on anecdotal experience. It feels like a higher percentage of app store offerings are junk. Not sure if that's just the lower barrier to entry, or that I'm seeing way more of the field than I see when I'm searching outside the store. As a counterpoint: I absolutely love the iOS App Store experience, largely because of the unification of subscriptions and subscription cancellation.
