- SilverElfin 1y agoNor do you. Why can’t Hamas surrender and turn over hostages? Why should Israel put up with a continued threat against its residents of any magnitude?
- actionfromafar 1y agoCan the non-Hamas surrender and live? No, they can just stay and die. Tell me, what should a non-Hamas member in Gaza do right now to avoid getting bombed? Edit: I found your answer to that question: https://news.ycombinator.com/reply?id=45268680&goto=threads%3Fid%3DSilverElfin%2345268680 https://news.ycombinator.com/reply?id=45268680&goto=threads%... Paraphrased, the children are part of the culture and may die. There are no civilians.
- dotancohen 1y ago> what should a non-Hamas member in Gaza do right now to avoid getting bombed Evacuate when told to by the IDF. It's terrible, but it's better than being bombed. But you are correct - the responsibility to end the war and prevent further civilian casualties lies squarely with Hamas. Pressure them to return the hostages, don't pressure Israel to capitulate to terrorists.
- actionfromafar 1y agoExcept in practice, IDF bombs "safe" areas too. There's no out. But it seems you are getting your way, we will find out exactly how many dead are acceptable to mr Bibi.
