DDG puts a little "L" hat on it's logo if you search Luigi
- the_hoser 1y agoAnd it puts a red "M" hat on if you search for Mario.
- bediger4000 1y agoI think these "woke" feints at supporting Mangione are going to fail miserably.
- jsheard 1y agoThey do the same thing for Mario, Zelda, Link, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Pikachu and more. Are those also sinister wokeism or are you maybe reading too much into this?
- firefax 1y agoI apologize that an easter egg that displays a cute image of a duck dressed as a video game character made you so upset, but please don't assume bad faith and inject vitrol into a discussion that should be whimsical. I meant to make this as an Ask HN thread but was hitting a title limit... I was going to comment asking if anyone had found others, but got distracted by the thread on Robert Redford's death[1]. - yegg 1y agoThere are hundreds of logo easter eggs. The community has been cataloging ones they can find: https://makdulac.com/daxduckdex.html https://makdulac.com/daxduckdex.html
- firefax 1y agoThanks for this pointer, I had no idea there are so many of them.
- k310 1y agoI'm not seeing it. Adblocker issue?
- firefax 1y agoI tested, and it looks like if you revoke permissions for DDG in NoScript the image no longer displays when you search "Luigi" (or other characters like Pikachu.)
