It's not about sponsorships and integrity, it's about preventing the pipeline "Person reads article -> Sees this brand of vape has micocontrollers -> Buys this brand of vape".
(If I understood the author correctly, y'know, not to speak for them)
- efilife 1y agoOk, but what's bad about this?
- Dilettante_ 1y agoContributing to people buying stuff that's bad for them, and giving money to an industry that profits off it, presumably? Again, I'm just assuming the author's position(which, for the record I do not share) here.
- efilife 1y agomay I ask what's your personal stance on this?
- Dilettante_ 1y agoMy position is "give people all the info you have, do not make the 'right' decision for them."
- acuozzo 1y agoPossibly greater e-waste than there would otherwise have been.
- efilife 1y agoI doubt it. He doesn't want to mention a SPECIFIC brand. But is fine with mentioning vaping. Or maybe you meant the chip?
- efilife 1y agodon't worry about speaking for the author. I want to gather as many explanations of this as possible because none of them seem to be consistent and make much sense. I don't see the point
