Microsoft has tentatively agreed to invest $100B+ into OpenAI's corporate arm. There is not yet a firm, binding agreement. OpenAI says it will remain a nonprofit + public benefit corporation and describes itself as a "philanthropic organization." They're soliciting applications for a $50M pool of grants for things like AI education and "community innovation."
- Woodi 1y agoStill a infomess :> Looks like OpenAI dropped Azure in favor of Oracle but MS still invests B's $ ? And OpenAI is a "non-profit" so Oracle strait get 75% or more of OpenAI fees ? All that strange bilions just like in ad tech... Why manager pay so much bilions ?? It must be managers, who else it can be ? Except govs ofc :)
