The entire crusade against "illegal immigrants" in the US is built on misinformation. Pretty much everything the Trump administration has said about, well, everything, has been a thinly veiled lie. Its not misinformation vs the governments word. Its misinformation vs populist pseudo-fascist misinformation. If the government is telling you or us that these workers did not have valid visas, that probably means that at least some definitely did have valid visas.
